Parting is such sweet sarrow...

We have currently found homes for all our puppies in our "spice" litter. Thank you everyone for your interest and for following our blog. We will be having another litter this August, hopefully ready for homes in September. Today is a very bittersweet day for us. There is always some moping around the Robertson household the day our last puppy leaves.

And then there were 4...

The puppies are growing like weeds! We currently have four puppies left, 2 boys and 2 girls. I will try to get some new pictures posted on here sometime VERY soon. The puppies are just over 9 weeks old now. They all will receive their 9 week vaccinations tonight. We have been bringing the puppies inside at night for the past few nights. I woke up this morning to each puppy claiming one of the big dogs beds with ALL of the big dogs up on OUR bed! It was like the book, "The Napping House". I am not sure what negotiations when on between the dogs and the puppies in the middle of the night to work out that deal! Basil, one of our male puppies, is growing so much faster than the other pups. He is the leader of the small puppy pack. He has really long legs that he has not yet mastered completely. Very cute to see him run down the hallway.... reminds me of that ol' Charmin commercial where they set up toilet paper rolls around all the corners when the puppy couldn't not hit the breaks. Snoopy, another male pup, continues to be our little love bug. He is the first one to come into the house, the first one to request to be up on my lap, the first one to ask to be petted and the first one to curl up on my feet. Paprika, a female pup, is a little charmer. She likes to hang out with the big dogs, especially Huckleberry. She has an adorable face! Rosemary is the submissive puppy in our pack. Herself and Basil wrestle quite often. She has a high pitched yip to let Basil know when she has had enough. Rosemary also like to spend time with our 9 month old baby. Our baby has recently mastered the use of a rolling walker. Rosemary likes to jump up on her hind legs onto the walker and lick our baby's face.

We are sure going to miss these pups once they have found new homes. There is always a slow time around the house of mourning after they have gone. I think Huckleberry misses them the most when they are gone. We are thankful to have a few returning while their new parents are on vacation starting in April. It is so much fun to be a continued part of our puppies lives.

Of the puppies that have left here are the names the new puppy parents have decided on!

Puppy names so far -- Max, Honey, Buck, Tobey, Addie, Marley (Marlene), Havasue, Paprika "Rika", Finn, Izzy & Winston.

Thankful for good weather!

Talk about a nice action shot! I wouldn't mess around with that rooster if I were you puppy!
Ball dog at heart already. Huckleberry loves any kind of balls and I can see that his pups are taking after him quite nicely.

I am so thankful for nice weather this past weekend. We have had snow on the ground up until this past Thursday and it has just been a wet muddy mess. We were finally able to let the puppies out of the garage to romp and play around. They were so excited!!! None of them were shy or hesitant about discovering the outside world. Within about 15-20 minutes of the puppies being outside two of them discovered a small enough hole under the fence into the chicken coop for them to snuggle under. Next thing we know there are puppies inside chasing the chickens and being chased by the chickens. Natural instinct is one hell of a thing!  The puppies found their way into all the pot holes in our yard and starting digging. Some puppies played ring around the rosie around my bushes. Some puppies played hide and go seek under our deck in the front and back yard. Most followed our big dogs around to see what this outside business is all about. So much fun!

Why did the chicken cross the road?
